Please note: ALL excursions will start at 18:15h (at World Forum) and will end at 20.30h at World Forum.

We will depart from the World Forum Congress building for a panoramic city tour through The Hague, the governmental capital of the Netherlands and home of Queen Beatrix, by driving along the Royal Palace, Peace Palace and the Government buildings in the city centre.

In the city you will enter a cruise which will take you along canals, dating back to the 14th century. During the cruise you can enjoy stories on the old city of The Hague.

End of the excursion back at the World Forum Congress building.

We will depart from the World Forum Congress building for The Hague Beach, Scheveningen. Scheveningen is one of the eight districts of The Hague, Netherlands, as well as a subdistrict (wijk) of that city. Scheveningen is a modern seaside resort with a long, sandy beach, an esplanade, a pier, and a lighthouse. Enjoy the view and see where Mr. Mesdag got his inspiration for his world famous Panorama painting.

We will walk across the Pier and enter the Ferris Wheel, where 6 people can enter the gondola and enjoy a glass of Prosecco and some typical Dutch snacks.

We will meet the local guide at the World Forum Congress building and start walking towards the city centre, you will go through the park and pass the Peace Palace. In the historic centre we will be passing the many gems The Hague has to offer, such as almshouses and other historic and cultural buildings.

Included is a visit to the famous Mauritshuis. The museum reopened after being renovated in summer 2014 and is home to the very best of Dutch Golden Age painting. The compact, yet world-renowned collection is situated in the heart of The Hague, right next to the government centre. The famous Vermeer’s ‘Girl with a Pearl Earring’ has been on a world tour for 2 years and returned with the Mauritshuis reopening on 27 June 2014. Masterpieces such as Anatomy Lesson of Dr. Nicolaes Tulp by Rembrandt, The Goldfinch by Fabritius (now a bestseller by Donna Tart) and The Bull by Potter are on permanent display in the intimate rooms of this seventeenth-century monument. More than two hundred top paintings from Dutch and Flemish masters are on display in this historic interior, with silken wall coverings, sparkling chandeliers and monumental painted ceilings.

The walk to Mauritshuis from the World Forum Congress building is about 40 min, beautiful and passing the Peace Palace.
